What is Acupuncture? It is a therapeutic method originating from Traditional Chinese Medicine, by which needles are stuck to various depths into the skin. Through this, the two forms of life energy, Yin and Yang, are regulated, and blockages within the organism are balanced out, or individual organ systems are stimulated or soothed. The Traditional Chinese Medicine differentiates 14 primary meridians with 361 main acupuncture points.
The beginnings of acupuncture date back to circa 4.000 B.C. and represent a comprehensive system of diagnosis and therapy. The two volume textbook by the Yellow Emperor from the early Han dynasty (200 B.C.), as well as the textbook from Huang Fu-Mi (259 A.D.), belong to the most important works concerning acupuncture.
