Facet blocks

Computertomographic- and image converter-aided facet block (injection in the vertebral joint)

With the help of an image converter and, if necessary, the injection of an x-ray image intensifier, a special injection needle is precisely placed directly within the vertebral joint. Following precise placement, various medications are injected.

Indication

  • arthrosis of vertebral joints
  • dislocation of the spinal column
  • facet syndrome (vertebral joint pain)
  • pseudoradicular pain (local, non-radiating pain)
  • diagnostic blocks (i.e. prior to heat probe-therapy/thermocoagulation)
  • blockage of small vertebral joints
