Tablets or Drops: What works better? Side effects in the stomach or intestines are possible when tablets are taken. Certain foods can also reduce their effectiveness. A possible solution: So-called retarding or deposit tablets ensure that the active ingredients are continually set free over a longer period of time, so that they work with increased regularity. If drops are taken, the time of ingestion and dosage must be properly regulated, in order to avoid an undesirable wave-like course of effectiveness, i.e. to avoid repetitive cycles of pain. This can, however, not always be guaranteed.
