Spine surgery. Preparing for the operation Many of the minimally invasive spinal column operations that we implement can be conducted under local anesthetic and the additional consultation of an experienced anesthesiologist. For longer procedures, a full narcosis is recommended. Patient instructions for the operation, as well as a written declaration of the patient's consent, must be concluded one day prior to the planned operation at the latest, either on a walk-in basis, or by the already admitted patient. Our team of doctors, as well as the anesthesiologists who cooperate with us, are at the patient's disposal.
The necessary preliminary examinations can be conducted in advance by a family doctor or internist in the patient's home town. We will gladly fax you or your doctor information concerning the requirements for the preliminary examination, as well as an informational brochure concerning individual processes. With this information, you will receive a list of medications that influence the blood clotting and therefore are not to be taken prior to surgical procedures.
