Two procedures, attached to the so-called reversible manipulation of nerve conductors, make it possible for doctors to gain influence on the transmission of pain signals. These methods of treatment,which will be explained in separate contributions, are

  • the Epidural stimulation (electrical) in the vicinity of the spinal cord (SCS)
and
  • Intrathecal pharmacotherapy (use of medicine in the spinal cord canal for soothing pain)
