Avoiding pain Professor Dr. Horst Cotta, the former Director of the Orthopedic University Hospital of Heidelberg and one of the most important orthopedists in Germany, recognized early on the connection between early aging and joint diseases. His most urgent point: "You're only as young as your joints."
If even the aging process of the motion apparatus is largely genetically predestined, we can still do much for the tangible aging of bones and joints. Prevention through motion and medical therapy strengthens the back and protects it from pain. Yet even if symptoms of degeneration appear on the spinal column and intervertebral discs, or injuries have already occurred, a polished and individually-planned and implemented follow-up treatment is the best possibility to avoid further back pain and painful complications in the second half of life.
So we take problems with pain and the health of joints very seriously. For this reason, there are numerous methods of treatment that are offered in our clinic in addition to and accompanying classical medical orthopedics. They serve foremost the improvement of your quality of life until old age. As with all forms of therapy, our primary philosophy, in which the prevention of a disease takes absolute precedence over the treatment in later stages, also proves useful here.
