Percutaneous microlaser disc nucleotomy (PLDN) Surgical technique
A very thin puncture needle is inserted in the front of the neck and guided by an x-ray image converter into the affected disc under local anesthetic. A fiber optic micro laser is inserted through the puncture needle directly into the herniated disc. The effect of the laser light on the disc tissue causes a reduction of the disc nucleus, as well as the disc fiber ring (annulus) with the corresponding herniated part of the disc (shrinking effect). Consequence: a reduction in volume. And that, in turn, relieves the compressed nerve root. The radiating pain fades way. In addition, the tissue of the fiber ring is transformed. Smaller disc tears are closed again. And furthermore, the laser light is able to liberate the disc fiber ring from pain through elimination of the pain receptors.
Indication
