It is necessary, as with a puzzle, to put the right pieces together from an abundance of different types of pain, symptoms, and examination results from various fields of discipline into a conclusive diagnosis. This is one of the most difficult challenges in medicine. Even a superbly trained individual specialist runs often into the limits of his ability.

Therefore, we have applied an interdisciplinary concept of diagnosis that includes numerous doctors from various different fields of discipline for many years already. In addition to the treating doctor, who surveys the patient's personal pain situation and examines all previous diagnoses and therapies in an initial step, the opinions of the anesthetist, the neurologist, and the radiologist, as well as yet further doctors are brought in as necessary. In this manner, we derive a comprehensive and conceivably objective evaluation of the causes of pain - the best prerequisite for the introduction of promising measures of therapy.
