Epidural stimulation (electrical) in the vicinity of the spinal cord (SCS) The electrode is carefully placed in the epidural area near the spinal cord, similar to the spinal column catheter treatment. A temporary nerve pacemaker is connected. Then the patient indicates where the stimulation is felt. The doctor adjusts the position of the electrode as necessary, in order to achieve optimal stimulation of the proper area of the body. The goal is to place the electrode so that the stimulation is felt exactly where the pain had occurred earlier. After a successful phase of stimulation, the nerve pacemaker is implanted in a skin pocket.
