The EMG muscle examination (technical term: electromyography) allows an exact assessment of the muscle tension in a particular area with the help of superficial electrodes that stick pain-free to the skin. The doctor can see whether muscles are tense or weakened, and which therapy seems most suitable. Also, he can control the outcome of treatment with the EMG.
