Diagnosis of Arthrosis The clinical examination shows possibly a painful restriction of movement, as well as ligament instability, meniscus damage at the knee joint, or swelling. There are various diagnostic techniques available for precise clarification.
With the use of x-ray photographs, joint space narrowing or conversion reaction the bone can be recognized, depending upon their seriousness. In special cases, modern photographic methods, such as computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, or ultrasound must be additionally implemented. In the future, magnetic resonance imaging in particular will be the preferred diagnostic method for the assessment of joint cartilage.
