The advantage of modern spinal column microsurgery Intervertebral discs and spinal canal constrictions are no longer operated on through large incisions, but through merely one to three millimeter mini-openings at the most. And the doctor controls the area of operation through a surgical microscope. For the new microtherapeutic procedures, even an incision of a few millimeters is sufficient. Through the microscope, even hidden herniated discs in the nerve root canal can be removed under direct observation. Important: the danger of the buildup of scar-tissue, which can lead to new pain, is greatly reduced.
